- Read the form first, so you know what you'll need to look for in your book.
- Read the French-language book that you chose from the school library.(Remember that using a translator is considered cheating...looking up one word at a time on WordReference.com is not :) )
- Note: WordReference is like a dictionary...there might be several meanings for one word. Look until you find the definition that makes sense in the story.
- You will have difficulty with some words (especially verbs). Try to get the "gist" or general idea before worrying about looking up specific words. Remember the reading tips we learned in class in lesson 2:
- Regardez les images!
- Regardez les mots déjà connus!
- Regardes les mots-amis!
- Consultez le dictionnaire!
- You may need to read the story more than once--that's OK! You are LEARNING French...it takes EFFORT!
- Fill in the form below with FULL SENTENCES in French. The form will tell me when you answer :)
- Bonus marks to those who read more than one book in French! (The Clearbrook Library has a HUGE children's section in French.) If you read more than one book, fill out the form once for each.
